NEW FOREST PAPER MILL
Innovation

New Forest Paper Mill began operations in April of 2006 and is a joint venture between Mitchel-Lincoln Packaging and Atlantic Packaging. The state-of-the-art Voith machine produces over 200,000 tons of liner and medium each year and has a trim width of 200".

This project involved the construction of a new paper manufacturing facility with over 250,000 square feet of floor area. The main press room is 72 feet high with three 40 ton cranes spanning 100 feet. All of the buildings are multi-level and house process equipment, presses, warehousing, and an aerobic water treatment facility.

Linerboard and Medium

New Forest Paper Mill uses old corrugated containers as raw material. The fiber is treated and cleaned of all extraneous materials such as staples, tape, wire, glass, gravel or dirt, styrofoam, and plastic. Once free of the non-fiber materials, the stock slurry is pumped to the paper machine. A uniform sheet is formed that is then slit and sent to Mitchel-Lincoln for converting into corrugated boxes.
