RECYCLING

Instead of harvesting trees, Festival reuses waste material to produce recycled corrugated paper products.  The raw material from Mitchel-Lincoln’s New Forest Paper Mill is made from 100% recycled paper – mostly from fibers collected by municipal curbside collections (blue box programs), and industrial/commercial facilities. This method diverts 33,000 truckloads of paper waste annually that would have otherwise gone to landfills. It also saves the equivalent of 14 million mature trees per year that would have been cut down.

Environmental benefits of using recycled material instead of virgin pulp include:

• Forest preservation

• Waste diversion from landfills

• Pollution reduction during the manufacturing process

Reuse of waste as raw material helps to close the recycling loop.
